About AIIMS:

Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, the first prime minister of India, dreamed to infuse the country with a scientific culture and immediately after independence, he prepared a huge design to achieve it. One of the temples of modern India, which was built by their hypothesis, was a center of excellence in medical science. The dream of Nehru was that there should be a center for preserving the pace of medical and research in South-East Asia, and in this, he got complete support of then health minister of his time, Rajkumari Amrit Kaur. 

Under the chairmanship of an Indian public servant, Sir Joseph William Bhore, during the year 1946, the establishment of a National Medical Center by the Health Survey and Development Committee had already been recommended, which should be highly qualified manpower to handle the nation’s increasing healthcare activities. A proposal was made by combining the recommendations of Pandit Nehru and Amrut Kaur and the recommendations of the Bhore Committee, which got support from the New Zealand government. New Zealand’s generously donated donation came under the Colombo plan, the foundation stone of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS)was laid in 1952. In the end, the creation of AIIMS was done in 1956 as an autonomous institution through an act passed in the parliament for nurturing excellence in all aspects of health care.

All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) was set up in the form of an institution of national importance by the Act of Parliament with the aim of developing a pattern of teaching in undergraduate and postgraduate medical education in all the branches so that high standard of medical education should be displayed in India. The Institute has extensive facilities for teaching, research, and care for patients. As stated in the Act, teaching programs are run by AIIMS at both graduate and postgraduate courses in medical and paramedical courses and it gives students their own degree.

Teaching and research are organized in 42 subjects here. AIIMS is the pioneer in the field of medical research, where over 600 research publications are presented by its faculty and researchers in a year. A nursing college is also run in AIIMS and here BSc (Honours) Nursing Post Certificate degree is also given to the students.

With the help of four super specialty centers, 25 clinical departments manage all the conditions of the disease practically with the help of pre and paraclinical departments. However, patients suffering from burning cases, dog bite cases and infectious diseases are not treated in AIIMS hospital.

60-bed hospital also managed by AIIMS at the extensive rural health care center in Vallabhgarh, Haryana, and around 2.5 lakh people are provided health facilities through community center for community treatment.

The purpose of AIIMS: 

To develop a pattern of study in undergraduate and postgraduate medical education in all its branches so that high standards of medical education can be displayed in all medical colleges and other related institutions of India. Bring the highest level educational facilities in one place to the personal training in all important branches of healthcare activity. Bring self-reliance at the postgraduate level in medical education.

Appointment at AIIMS: 

Everyone in the All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) wants to get their treatment. Until now, it was said that patient would be treated if the patient has the reference in AIIMS. But now the need for reference here is over. Yes, now any patient can get treatment in AIIMS. But there are some conditions for him.

How to book an online appointment at AIIMS:

First of all, you have to go to the online registration system website. Here you have to click on book appointment now.

After this, if you have the Aadhar card, then add your Aadhar number. After this, you will get OTP on your mobile. You have to submit the  OTP.

If you are already a patient of AIIMS, then click on the related option. Then a new window will open. In it, you need to fill in your details.

 If you do not have a Aadhar card then click on that option. You will be asked to put your mobile number and then you will get an OTP. You submit OTP. Then a new window will open in front of you. Here you have to give complete information about yourself. After this, you will be registered on this website.

After the first step is cleansed, you have to select the state. If you want to see in Delhi then select Delhi’s option. After this, you have to select the hospital. As you need to see in AIIMS, select AIIMS. Select which department to see for which disease? In this section, you will find different windows for different departments. Click on the disease you want to visit for it.

Know, what are the conditions to get treatment in AIIMS:

Reference is sought for some of these diseases. Such as cardio, hormonal intolerance, gastric and gastric surgery, blood-relieved disease, kidney problems, nervous system problems and surgery, nuclear medicine, children’s heart problems, muscles, and joint disorder, slip disorder, urology problem etc. The same patients of Orthopedic will be seen, whose operation has been done. Apart from this, you can visit in AIIMS for other diseases also.

After selecting the disease, you will be given a date list. The list of the available dates will be in front of you. Select the date as per your choice. Next, the Confirmation Window will come. If you want to book an appointment, click on book appointment. You can also reschedule your appointment from this window if you wish.

After the appointment is booked, the confirmation message will be sent to your registered mobile number and the appointment is booked. You can take print out of the same if you wish.

Keep in mind, if you do not go to the appointment day after the booking, you will not get an appointment again. You can cancel your appointment until one day before.

On the appointment day, you will have to go to the hospital and make your OPD card from the appointment counter. There you will also have to pay 10 rupees.

Please be punctual on the appointment date. Otherwise, your appointment may be canceled. You can also make your OPD card without an appointment by going to the hospital directly. The OPD card is made from 8.30 am to 10.30 am. Doctors do checkups from 8.30 am to 1 pm.
